Swapsies!!

Well, the magic yarn ball swap is go!! I received details of my swap partner this morning, Sarah in Scotland! She has a pattern she wants to try out involving knitting a kitty and felting it, so she has asked for some pure wool, so I'm on the lookout for that! I asked her to suprise me though, so I don't know what project I'll get! I need to find the 'magic' now too (little gifts to wind into the ball so they drop out as she knits!) Great fun :-) I've got a few bits already!
BTW, I finished my Jayne hat! I just need to take a photo now!

Oh yes! I love that pattern! I have a pair of kitty ears that I dress up in during some of my more *cough* inebriated moments, but a hat would be so cool - the BF calls me the mad cat lady! *Shrugs* I just enjoy making him laugh/blush!

samsara, i have a few suggestions.. i could make you a kitty hat, or i could send you some yarn to make one, or we could make one together, a mini kal? let me know which you'd rather, its quite a quick knit so i dont mind doing any of the above :)

Aw bless you Vinny! That's such a kind offer! Um, I guess we could KAL, I've actually got some black yarn myself, I've just been abit intimidated by hats up to now *lol* but now I've got my Jayne hat under my belt (is it much harder?) The pattern was in S&B wasn't it? I'll have a look when I get home.
(Unless you want to trade/swap of course? That's always fun!)

im up for whichever is best for you. it's a simple hat pattern, but obviously theres the earflaps and the ears, which make it a bit more complicated. give it a go if you have the yarn and the time, i'll knit along with you, its always good to have company :P

otherwise, sure i'll knit it for you ;) just get up a pic of the jayne hat im dying to see it!

the pattern is here http://www.kittyville.com/knit/kitty_hat.html

Ok Vinny, I've had a look at the pattern and I'd quite like to give it a go, so do you fancy knitting it together then? I need to get the right needles, I've only got one pait ofcircular, and they're fairly short, and I haven't got any double pointeds, so I'm going to have to hit eBay I think, as there's a distinct lack of decent yarn shops round here (unfortunately Hobbycraft's the best stocked, which gives you an idea of the sadness of the knitting fraternatity here *lol*) Actually, I favourited a seller who stocked bamboo circulars, so I might see what they have to offer! The hat looks fairly straight forward, I'll tackle the flaps and ears when I get there *lol*

yep im totally up for it. i bought my addi's online from classic yarns who are quite reasonable about their postage, and they send everything so quickly, i've ordered from them a few times and theyve been brilliant. angel yarns are properly expensive for postage and i waited a couple of months for a few things after christmas so im not so taken with them.

you can do the whole hat on dpns, but if you use 16" circs you'll need dpns as well to finish the decreases - or you could get two pairs of circs and try the magic loop method ;)

let me know when you're ready to start :D

your jayne hat is bloody lovely btw, i am so green!
