Springtime Walkies

The Hound of the Baskervilles loves it when I'm on holiday because it means he gets lots of nice walkies. This is one of the footpaths leading off Rabbit Field, a favourite haunt of ours. The Hound takes the lead and makes sure that the coast's clear. He also checks up on the rabbit and squirrel population, making sure that they're getting enough exercise by chasing them.
It's amazing how adoringly he gazes at you when you are taking him somewhere nice!

Today's jaunt was taken on the way back from the post office. I had some candles that were a bulk order so I'd been working hard the last day or two to get them finished. They would have been finished alot earlier, but M (ever clumsy) managed to knock the drying rack onto the floor while they were still wet. You've never known frustration until you've had to pluck dog and cat hairs from a tacky wet surface with tweezers. This is a WIP photo, they looked okay when I'd done, no hairs in sight :-)

I've managed to get some work done on the ruffle edged belt thingy too. I've pretty much finished the main belt bit, I'm now doing the panels down the front to hold the laces in. The original pattern doesn't have panels in, but the belt is alot narrower than I anticipated. I thought I'd be okay going up a size because I was using much thinner yarn, but I guess I should have gone up a couple of sizes, because there's quite a gap at the front.

I plan to use this in belly dancing class, so I've crocheted sparkly beads and tiny silver bells into the edge on the bottom. It jingles well now *lol*

Last night I even managed to get a little spinning in. Yep, I resurrected the old spindle. Poor thing's been sitting forlorn and unloved because I really haven't had the time to do anything with it. One of my 101 goals is to spin a skein and make something with it, so I need to get a head start on it!

Pretty candles! Yay for jingles! I really like that yarn, a lot, maybe too much, LOL.
