Finished up and F***ed up

Oh dear! Look at this! I finished my Aine Cardi yesterday and when I tried it on, I suddenly realised that it looked like this! I just couldn't think how I could have f***ed up so badly with it! Now bear in mind that I've had a bit of a flare up the last couple of days and have been a little under the weather, but I'm absolutely certain that as I was knitting this thing, I measured meticulously (for me) every step of the way and I knew I wasn't that out. I laid each front on top of each other and the damn things looked the same.

You know it came to me in the middle of the night what must have happened. I must have put that left side on backwards. That's the only thing I can think. Now, not only is it hard with that yarn to see where the stitches are piecing it all together, but there's a border of sc and then crab stitch all up the sides and across the back of the neck. I know what will happen. It has to happen. I won't wear it until I do, and only when I've unpicked it and pieced it together again will I have quieted that OCD perfectionist inhabiting the corner of my soul and whispering in my ear. *Sigh* I'm going to have to leave it a couple of days though. I just can't face it now!

So today, in a desperate bid to regain some job satisfaction, I picked up my (non) Pink Sherbet. It's an on again, off again project I'm afraid. I have to be in the mood for lace. It takes too much concentration and I can't do it whilst I'm watching a good film. I have to be plugged into an audiobook, or listening to music, so that I can count under my breath whilst I'm knitting - k3,yo,k1,yo,k3,sl1,k2tog,psso,rep. I feel like I'm talking in tongues. Add to that the curses when you drop a stitch, which happens now and again because this yarn is quite slippy.

But just look how beautiful it is!

I've also been adding some stock to my shop, including these patterned light bulbs

and this little sweet heart candle or trinket dish.

Did you know that in England yesterday we had a partial solar eclipse? At about 10 am, the moon covered 15% of the suns surface. It was a little cloudy here, so I couldn't get a good view of it. Oh well. The sunset last night was pretty spectacular though.

M is now officially on holiday for a couple of weeks. Wiltshire here we come!

I love the light bulbs. They are so cool looking! :)

On the cardi, at least you know what happened, and it can be fixed. That sucks though to have to pick those stitches out!

Love the picture of the sunset! Beautiful.

I love thos lightbulbs, I'm intrigued by how they would look lit up.
Shame about the cardi, I've done something similar myself, so frustrating, but at least it's fixable. Good Luck :)

Oh, samsara! At least you know what to do to fix it. I'm pretty intimidated by the idea of making a sweater, so I'm super impressed by knitters who do!

Everything you make is so lovely! I love the Pink Sherbet lace, and the beautiful things you made for your swap partners. Gorgeous crafts!

I love your lightbulbs and trinket holder! Cute!

Your Pink Sherbet is coming along beautifully! I know lace is complicated but it's always so pretty when it's done!

Hopefully you can fix the cardi! It's great that you figured out what was wrong. I probably would've taken years to figure it out :P
