Princes and Potters!

Today, Mum and I went to see Prince Caspian. We went to the early bird showing (before 12 o'clock) because at our local cinema, you can get in for half price, so it's probably cheaper than going out for coffee (which I don't drink anyway) and a scone. For some reason, my Mum can never be on time these days; she used to be really good and I remember her nagging us if we weren't ready on time to go out (probably were I got it from!), but these days, she's terrible! So she was late and I was pacing around the foyer like I'd been stood up by a date and she turned up 5 minutes before the film was due to start. Well, it was worth the wait. The film was much less sentimental than the first, full of battles and 'moral' lessons. Susan and Peter are a bit more pouty, Edmund is less of a snivelling brat, and Lucy is a little more grown up. 3921674299Prince Caspian is a bit of a hottie too, even with his faux 'Spanish' accent. The raid with the griffins is a fantastic scene, and I love the final scene on the bridge with Lucy. (Don't worry, I won't give anything away) . It's quite a long film though, after 2 and a half hours my bladder was screaming! My heart did sink though as the two old women behind us started talking to each other the minute the film started. Don't you hate that? After about 10 minutes of this, I turned round glaring in my seat and hissed 'if I wanted an audio commentary, I'd have waited till the DVD came out!'. They were quieter after that.

I also had my first Summer School Art and Craft Workshop. I was supposed to have 8 students, but 5 turned up half an hour late! I was actually just going home at that point! I practically had my coat on, having told my Head of Department that no-one had showed and they wandered in denying all knowledge of a seven o'clock start! Hmmm. Anyway, we had a good session with clay, and I've worked out that one of the lads is going to be a bit of a handful, and that he's joining us to do his exams for the next three years! He's a funny kid, but I just know that I'm gonna be laughing and shaking my head in exasperation at him! I meant to take photos, I'd taken my camera and everything, I just forgot once we were into the swing of it!

By the way, keep an eye on this space, I'll be announcing my blogoversary competition very shortly!

lol, good for you! Why can't people just be quiet and watch the movie?

Your workshop sounds wonderful. I'm so glad you have some students after all! I would love to see pictures of what you are teaching them.
