Yesterday was my sisters birthday. Understandably she was quite sad so we made as much fuss of her as we could. She was taken out to lunch and we all went to see Indiana Jones in the evening. I have a feeling that this film will try and bring in a new generation Indi, but I could be wrong. It was a pleasant night out in true Indiana Jones tradition. There were lots of 'homages' towards previous Indiana Jones films.
I finished the skein I was spinning for her and knitted it up into a pouch. It was going to be a bag but alas, I didn't quite make enough for that. I crocheted a border round the edges in silver (to match the silver I plyed it with) and sewed in a zip.
I made a heart shaped pendant for her, out of the pick enamelled copper wire I found at the electronics shop, and strung some rose quartz crystal chips in with purple beading wire. I was really pleased with how this came out.
I also gave her some Tim Burton DVD's (Beetlejuice, The Corpse Bride and Nightmare Before Christmas - she's a big fan of Beetlejuice and she loves musicals, so hopefully she'll like the other two) and a Chinese brocade jewellery roll. It wasn't the most joyful birthday any of us have had, but I hope she enjoyed it a little.
By the way, I finally worked out how to download a game to my phone via WAP! Woohoo!!
