Oh we do like to be beside the seaside....

I'm tired and sun burnt but extremely happy! We got up early today, looking doubtfully at the mist and grey sky and headed to Hunstanton, our nearest seaside town, which takes us nearly two hours drive. We started off early to beat the holiday traffic, since we've made that mistake before and been stuck in traffic jams for hours. There's really only road from here to the sea :-)
The weather got nicer and nicer, and by the time we got to Norfolk Lavender, the sun was shining brightly and the sky was blue! We usually stop at the lavender farm, we can have a little stroll around with the Hound of the Baskervilles and he can get a drink, and we normally invest in a new variety of lavender for the garden. I bought two today, one with fat purple heads with pink fronds hanging out, and another deep purple compact bush. I adore lavender....

If you take a little stroll through the shop and nurseries, there's a footpath over a bridge to a lovely woodland walk.

Then we resumed our journey to Sunny Hunny! We were there early enough that the beach was pretty empty, so we dashed down to the waters edge....

Rolling up our trouser legs and taking off our trainers, so like true Brits, we could paddle in the sea! Look! Bare feet and sea!

Joe spotted what he thought was an orange ball and raced off to investigate, but it was a marker buoy and was bigger than he was, so he raced back.

Joe had a great day! He raced about, running in and out of the sea, splashing us both. I splashed him back! We explored the rock pools.

We walked up and down the sea front, eating lovely homemade ice creams.

Looking at the sea, the yachts and watching the beach ponies....

It was so nice to get some sand between my toes.

And now I need to make up some after sun treatment from my handy box of essential oils! Hope your day was as good as mines been!

One can never have too much lavender ; )
Looks like you had a wonderful day!
I wish I had a great place like that to take my dog to play in the water.
